2008, Fujian province will promote the development
of jewelry industry and create 5 jewelry manufacturing
bases and trading areas, including jewelry and ornaments
trading area in Fuzhou Taijiang, agalmatolite production
area in Jinan, silver manufacturing base in Putian
Xiuyu, jewelry and ornaments manufacturing base in
Licheng as well as agate manufacturing base in Xiamen
Dongfu. |
The
jewelry industry develops quite rapidly in recent
years. Just take agate manufacturing base in Xiamen
Dongfu as an example; it has become the biggest
agate manufacturing base in China. The inborn advantage
in raw material of Xiamen makes it have the capability
to enlarge its agate industry. There are more than
4000 stone factories in Xiamen and its surrounding
areas. A large number of stone dross exports to
more than 100 countries and regions after processing,
which pushes the development of agate in raw material
as well as the channels of importation and exportation.
At present, Xiamen Dongfu has gained the reputation
of the kingdom of agate. There are more than 120
factories there and the sales takes up 90% in Chinese
market as well as 80% in world market.
